Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival

16th Annual Blind Willie McTell Blues Festival

Jim Lauderdale and Chuck Leavell to Co-Headline

Sat., May 9, 2009

Blues Festival

We are honored and quite happy to present two of the absolute finest musicians working today: Jim Lauderdale and Georgia’s own Chuck Leavell.

Jim replaces Buddy Miller, who is recovering from bypass heart surgery performed in February. Read the announcement.

Also set to play are:

UPDATE 4/29/2009
Nashville's Mike Farris, a standout in last year's lineup will be performing in Georgia on Friday and Saturday night, and has agreed to come over the festival to make a guest appearance around midday. He'll be performing solo as well as performing a couple of songs with the Crosstie Walkers.

The event is held each year to bring great musicians to the rural South, as well as pay tribute to country blues legend McTell, a Thomson native son, born and buried in the Happy Valley area of McDuffie County.

The small town feel and exceptional quality of the music presented year in and year out, makes the McTell Festival a special event indeed.
